Listen to the HotCopper podcast for in-depth discussions and insights on all the biggest headlines from throughout the week. On Spotify, Apple, and more.

While there are a few analogous projects West Coast Silver has been taking key lessons from, one has stood out more than any other — the Bou-Azzer project in Morocco.

This project, buried in the Anti-Atlas in the North African country, shares many of the same qualities as Elizabeth Hill, ranging from an abundance of cobalt, silver, and gold to the presence of ultramafic rocks and granite controlled by structural deformation that significantly post-dates the rocks’ modern formation.

Even better for West Coast Silver, who has studiously been taking notes, is the fact the Morocco project was discovered 100 years ago. Since then, there’s been over 60 deposits found and mined through 80 years’ constant work.

All that means plenty of history to learn from — which is exactly what West Coast is doing.

“There’s a really long-lived story in Morocco… they’ve had continuous success exploring and mining,” ERM Technical Consultant Tony Donaghy told HotCopper.

Mr Donaghy works for Environmental Resources Management, which was brought on by West Coast Silver to provide technical advice on the Elizabeth Hill Silver Project as it continues to develop towards production.

He and ERM were the team that first linked the long century of Bou-Azzer successes to Elizabeth Hill and gave West Coast Silver a strong leg up this year.

“Having Bou-Azzer as an analogue gives us a working hypothesis to hit the ground running and shows us what the critical factors are to focus our exploration activities on,” Mr Donaghy told HotCopper in a Watchlist interview.

“This working model [it gives us]… allows for critical re-evaluation of past exploration activities that have been done and gives us data assets that have been gathered, where past explorers may not have fully recognised the significance of what they were looking at because they weren’t using the models we’re using.

On top of all that, he added, “It gives us the idea to test the significance of those results, push ideas, and push regional exploration at Elizabeth Hill ahead.”

All this has led to “bonanza” early days at Elizabeth Hill as things fall into place.

Drilling got underway at the project last week following a long mobilisation period, as well as all the usual setup for any Australian-based mining company.

With June marking ‘go’ time, West Coast Silver is diving into the first hole as part of the 1,500-metre inaugural diamond drilling campaign. It’s targeting known high-grade silver mineralisation and investigating new structures.

“It’s well-known that [Elizabeth Hill] has been mined in the past, so what we’re working through at the present is how to target more of the silver mineralisation in the project itself… to enable drilling programs to be developed,” Mr Donaghy said.

“Then, we’re also looking around regionally at similar environments to all formations and busily prioritising target areas in the regional data sets where we think there might be more Elizabeth Hill-style mineralisation.

“I think that it’s all actually quite exciting, as it stands,” ERM’s consultant concluded.

High hopes WIN Metals can become Kimberley’s newest gold producer as Golden Crown targets defined https://themarketonline.com.au/high-hopes-win-metals-can-become-kimberleys-newest-gold-producer-as-golden-crown-targets-defined-2025-05-27/ Tue, 27 May 2025 03:49:55 +0000 https://themarketonline.com.au/?p=755490 WIN Metals (ASX:WIN) has today told shareholders it sees an opportunity for Golden Crown to become “a meaningful satellite producer” at its flagship Butchers Creek project after the explorer defined exploration targets.

Listen to the HotCopper podcast for in-depth discussions and insights on all the biggest headlines from throughout the week. On Spotify, Apple, and more.

Golden Crown’s exploration target has this month been defined as 400 to 700 kilotonnes between 2.4g/t to 3.2g/t Au for 23,000oz to 73,000oz of gold.

This is on top of the current inferred MRE: 400kt at 3.1g/t Au for 38,000oz of gold.

The Golden Creek windfall has certainly put wind in WIN’s sails at Butcher’s Creek, with managing director and CEO Steve Norregaard declaring it was “another important milestone in WIN’s strategy to unlock value [there].”

“With a very targeted, low-cost exploration approach, this supports our vision of becoming the next gold producer in the Kimberley region,” he proudly added.

Mr Norregaard — who said he was “suitably enthused” by the definitions — explained that this potential gold pick-up now sets Golden Crown up as a possible complementing producer to Butcher’s Creek, where WIN already operates.

There are some caveats WIN is still wriggling around, though. The main kicker is that most of the quantity and grade shared by the explorer is still — as explained by WIN in its May 27 market release — “conceptual in nature.”

There has not been enough drilling to estimate a Mineral Resource yet, either.

That may change by late 2025, though; the Australian explorer is already well into prepping for a 9,000-metre drilling program scheduled to begin in July.

In regards to WIN’s next under-dirt campaign, Mr Norregaard said: “The upcoming drill campaign is designed to test the potential and deliver further value to shareholders through disciplined, high-impact exploration.”

West Coast Silver is the newest name on the ASX – with drill rigs ready in the Pilbara https://themarketonline.com.au/west-coast-silver-is-the-newest-name-on-the-asx-with-drill-rigs-ready-in-the-pilbara-2025-05-23/ Fri, 23 May 2025 03:03:27 +0000 https://themarketonline.com.au/?p=755090 West Coast Silver (ASX:WCE) is the newest name on the ASX – and it’s also the freshest face in Western Australia’s prolific Pilbara region.

Listen to the HotCopper podcast for in-depth discussions and insights on all the biggest headlines from throughout the week. On Spotify, Apple, and more.

Situated at the Elizabeth Hill project in WA – a former high-grade silver operation that only ever went to 100m depth – West Coast Silver hits the bourse ready to go with a drilling campaign already on the immediate horizon.

And we’re talking about diamond drill rigs capable of going well below 100m total depth.

You can probably already guess what the company is searching for, given its name. (For those playing at home, West Coast Silver was formerly Errawarra.)

With Executive Director Bruce Garlick bullish on the silver thematic, what WCE really wants to do – all cards in order – is replicate already eye-catching grades detected on site using handheld scanners, showing the potential for concentrations above 900g/t silver.

And to make things more interesting, West Coast Silver is about to kick off fresh diamond drilling on-site.

“The drilling contractor West Core is scheduled to be on site over the weekend of 24–25 May 2025, with drilling to commence the following week,” West Coast Silver wrote in a release on Friday.

“The program is to target extensional and down-plunge silver mineralisation, with a focus on expanding known high-grade zones.”

For a full explanation of West Coast Silver’s project, why Bruce is bullish on silver, and what the newly-renamed company expects from the next six months – check out HotCopper’s interview above on this page.

WCE last traded at 4.6cps through Friday lunchtime.

AFT Pharma sets new $300M target after reaching $200M revenue for FY25 https://themarketonline.com.au/aft-pharma-sets-new-300m-target-after-reaching-200m-revenue-for-fy25-2025-05-22/ Wed, 21 May 2025 23:33:00 +0000 https://themarketonline.com.au/?p=754836 AFT Pharmaceuticals Ltd (ASX:AFP) has gone well beyond its financial targets for the 2025 fiscal year, achieving revenue past the $200 million mark, and now the company’s looking towards reaching $300M in the next two years.

Listen to the HotCopper podcast for in-depth discussions and insights on all the biggest headlines from throughout the week. On Spotify, Apple, and more.

The company unveiled its financial report for the year ending March 31, telling investors its full-year operating revenue had risen 6% to $208M. This was underpinned by an 11% rise in product sales and royalties across all territories, along with $0.7 million worth of income from licensing.

Group revenue was boosted by sales growth in the Australian and New Zealand markets, up 17% and 10% respectively. In Australia, this increase was offset by the one-off factors of destocking and interruptions to demand for Maxigesic IV.

In Oz, the operating profit was also in good shape, with an increase of 65%.

With this variable considered in the medium term, AFT has now set the goal of reaching $300M in revenue by the end of the 2027 fiscal year.

Earnings for the year were in a slightly weaker position, with EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) falling 20% to $20.9M while operating profit fell 27% to $17.6 million – in line with guidance released at the half year – and net profit after tax was down 23% to $12M.

AFT co-founder and managing director Dr Hartley Atkinson said the company had already achieved multiple goals during the 2025 fiscal year.

“Aside from continued strong growth in our core Australasian businesses, we have significantly advanced strategy to extend our reach across multiple geographies and added to our research and development pipeline,” AFT’s boss explained.

Highlights included launching Maxigesic tablets in the U.S., the launch of a proprietary antiseptic cream in mainland China, and the completion of multiple licensing agreements around the world, including Maxigesic IV in China and Brazil, Mr Atkinson flagged.

“These efforts have come at the cost of short-term earnings growth, but we are convinced they will deliver growth in long-term shareholder value.”

Nanoveu testing in-house low power AI chip tech to boost drone flight time https://themarketonline.com.au/nanoveu-testing-in-house-low-power-ai-chip-tech-to-boost-drone-flight-time-2025-05-19/ Mon, 19 May 2025 00:05:48 +0000 https://themarketonline.com.au/?p=754407 Nanoveu (ASX:NVU) has announced its participation in a program testing whether or not its AI-capable ECS-DoT microchip tech can extend drone flight time.

In layman’s terms: Nanoveu wants to whack its microchip into a small RC drone, and, given that its ECS-DoT chips are low-power, the thinking goes that any drone utilising the microchip will stay airborne for longer, given that the chips draw less juice from the drone’s battery.

There is, too, scope to assess what AI capabilities could be leveraged by drone software, but for now, the flight time aspect remains the key focus.

Still, the ability of the chip to operate on low power while also allowing complex tasks to be performed by the drone (or its software) will also be assessed.

Nanoveu wants to know how its tech could be used in infrastructure inspections and environmental sensing; its subsidiary EMASS Pte Ltd will be carrying out the testing.

“This approach ensures we ground our findings in measurable real-world outcomes … we’re taking ECS-DoT from the lab to the skies where we can demonstrate how efficiently embedded AI can transform UAV performance,” EMASS founder Dr. Mohamed M. Sabry Aly said.

The company’s chief exec for its microchip division, Mark Goranson, was particularly excited about the energy use implications.

“ECS-DoT represents a major leap forward in energy- efficient AI processing at the edge. Its energy efficiency and compact footprint make it ideal for drones and wearables, health sensors and AR/VR hardware wherever power is a limiting factor,” Goranson added.

“This testing program is intended to help validate the chip’s potential in drone applications as well as showcase its scalability across a wide range of embedded systems from aerospace to agriculture.”

Errawarra picks up 920g/t of silver from pXRF analysis https://themarketonline.com.au/errawarra-picks-up-920g-t-of-silver-from-pxrf-analysis-2025-05-15/ Thu, 15 May 2025 00:01:03 +0000 https://themarketonline.com.au/?p=754080 Errawarra Resources Ltd (ASX:ERW) has carried out surface sampling at its Elizabeth Hill project in Western Australia, with portable XRF (pXRF) readings picking up silver grading up to 920 grams per tonne (g/t).

Listen to the HotCopper podcast for in-depth discussions and insights on all thebiggest headlines from throughout the week. On Spotify, Apple, and more .

The company had identified multiple target locations for pXRF, and 37 surface samples bringing in grades beyond 50g/t for the precious metal.

These were also found in areas approximately 150 metres south and 300 metres north of the historic Elizabeth Hill mine site, including a highest recorded silver value of 920g/t silver (Ag).

Errawarra has underlined the fact that grades beyond 50g/t are usually associated with iron-rich, gossanous-like float material, in some cases indicating mineralised extensions to the known system.

Several programs of work are planned to continue investigation of the mineralisation in these areas, including more surface sampling, surveys using a metal detector to find more material in the target vicinity, and trenching to find potential mineralised structures at surface.

Those samples already collected have been sent to the lab to undergo analytical assessment, and assay results will be due in 6 to 8 weeks.

Executive director Bruce Garlick said the silver grade observations had been extremely exciting for Errawarra’s field team.

“The identification of high-grade silver values in areas north and south of the historic mine presents compelling new targets,” he said.

“We will now focus further field work in these areas to determine the potential for extensions to the known mineralisation.

“Coupled with our upcoming drilling program, due to commence in the coming weeks, this once again highlights the significant exploration potential at Elizabeth Hill.”

Giant Mining Extends Drilling with Visible Copper Mineralization https://themarketonline.com.au/giant-mining-extends-drilling-with-visible-copper-mineralization-2025-05-03/ Fri, 02 May 2025 22:59:50 +0000 https://themarketonline.com.au/?p=752932 Giant Mining Corp. (CSE: BFG | OTC: BFGFF | FWB: YW5) a Canadian-listed company, has announced a major development at its U.S.-based Majuba Hill Copper-Silver-Gold Project in Nevada—extending drilling at Hole MHB-34 beyond 1,850 feet with visible native copper, cuprite, and chalcopyrite. This signals strong potential for a significant copper sulfide zone and supports Majuba Hill’s status as a U.S. critical minerals asset.

Leo Hathaway, P.Geo., member of Giant Mining’s Advisory Board, stated the latest results are very encouraging, highlighting both near-surface leachable copper and deeper targets. He emphasized the project’s strong potential in a top-tier jurisdiction in The Watchlist video above.

With growing global demand for copper and other strategic metals—driven by electrification, renewable energy, and clean tech—Australian investors are increasingly looking beyond local borders for exposure to high-impact projects. Majuba Hill is positioned in a world-class mining jurisdiction with strong infrastructure, secured 2025 funding, and open-ended growth potential—making it a compelling opportunity no matter your location.

MHB-34 is the third of five planned holes in the 2025 Core Program, which aims to expand known copper mineralization and support a future Mineral Resource Estimate. Infrastructure at Majuba Hill includes established roads, power access, and processing-suitable areas, reducing future development costs.

WIN MD Steve Norregaard told HotCopper this latest estimate now places Butchers Creek at “around 360,000 ounces [of gold]” with around 320,000 in aggregate.

“What is really, really important is the drilling program we carried out last year was focused on converting inferred low confidence material into high confidence indicated material where we’ve seen this profound jump.”

WIN added another 120,000 ounces of indicated material through these early works.

“We can now put an economic value on the project,” Norregaard celebrated.

WIN heads into Wednesday morning trade selling at 1.4cps.
